The Sikh community residing in Kutch was ordered to sell their land and return to Punjab because they were 'not Gujaratis', citing the Bombay Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1958. The Gujarat High Court which heard the challenge by the farmers against the order ruled in favour of the farmers. However, the Gujarat government filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against the ruling. (Audio in Hindi)
